IMG_1561The champagne is on ice. The band is warming up. We are ready to welcome in 2016 with a bang. But, before we do, it is only right to take a moment to look back on 2015 – and what a year it was!

2015 was the first full year of Casual Runner’s existence. Our content and our readership continue to grow at tremendous rates, and we are thrilled to have so many Casual Runners along with us for this exciting adventure.  We thought that this is a good opportunity to let you know which articles that you, the readers, were most interested in over this past year. So, without further adieu, here are the top 10 most viewed articles on Casual Runner during the 2015 calendar year, enjoy!

You are going to be seeing a lot of runDisney on this list, and 2015 was certainly the year of Star Wars. So it is only appropriate that our readers clicked to read about Jennifer’s and Jake’s galactic adventures at the inaugural Star Wars race weekend. Hey, at least they did not have to run an entire galactic empire!

9. runDisney Princess Half Marathon, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida

One of the first races we ever reviewed was the 2013, Princess Half Marathon, and this race event continues to peak our readers’ interest each year. Perhaps they just wanted to see a little drag racing, runDisney style?

8. Portland Marathon, Portland, Oregon

Our guest contributor Ryan really captured the essence of the Pacific Northwest running scene as he detailed his account of taking on the Portland Marathon, and in so doing made this race a must-do for many of our readers.

Inaugural events are always fun. When you add in the excitement of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a course designed to help you shatter your PR, then you have the makings of one great race review.

6. Across the Bay 10k, Maryland

When one thinks of traffic jams on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, they do not normally think about thousands and thousands of runners enjoying a truly scenic race. Perhaps that is why our readers wanted to see what makes this 10k race so special.

5. runDisney Tinkerbell Half Marathon, Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California

How does one get to the Tinkerbell Half Marathon? Why, its the second star to the right and straight on till morning of course! This event weekend also gave Jake a great opportunity to show off some pretty impressive Shadow and Lost Boy costume designs.

It was in large part because of the continued popularity of this and other product reviews that we decided to launch our first ever Product Palooza event.  Don’t worry, we will be sharing more information of many more great running products in 2016.

3. Marine Corps Marathon, Washington, D.C. (Part 1 & Part 2)

The Marine Corps Marathon is one of the premier marathon events on the annual race calendar, and Mike’s two part race review brought it to life for our readers who want to run and spectate the People’s Marathon.

2. Navy Air Force Half Marathon, Washington, D.C.

Great destinations make for great races, and Washington, D.C. certainly offers Casual Runners spectacular sights during their races.  That is why so many readers could not get enough of Jennifer’s reviews of this race and why she covered it again for us in 2015.
